Today, May 1, Premier Doug Ford announced that certain businesses would be allowed to open under strict safety guidelines. By following proper health and safety guidelines these businesses will be permitted to begin operation on Monday, May 4 at 12:01 am. The following regards marinas:
“Marinas may also begin preparations for the recreational boating season by servicing boats and other watercraft and placing boats in the water, but not open to the public. Boats and watercraft must be secured to a dock in the marina until public access is allowed.”
However, the Marina is still under the Municipality of Kincardine facility lockdown. Municipal senior staff will be meeting Monday morning May 4 to determine what the above announcement will mean for our marina. It is anticipated that marina staff will be allowed to start preparations to open the marina, but that the marina will remain closed to the public.
Municipal staff has already been contacted regarding the path forward for boat preparation. This will also be on the agenda at their Monday meeting. We will be contacted after this meeting and will post the path forward on this website.
This is good news. However, preparation of the marina for opening will take time. Also, the time frame for opening the marina to the public is still unknown. Please be patient. Refrain from calling the Municipality as we are in contact with them and will post all information on the web site in a timely manner.
This information is also posted on the lift in and the Marina is closed pages
