MARINA IS CLOSED

KYC just received this information from the Municipality.  If affects everyone at the Marina, including our staff.  The word is closed means closed.  There will no longer be any work allowed at the Marina, whether preparations to open by staff, or work to prepare boats by owners.  We will be following up with the Municipality on Tuesday for plans for a new path forward.  The following excerpt is from the news media release from the Municipality:

The Grey Bruce Health Unit Medical Officer of Health, Dr. Ian Arra, is ordering municipalities to close all beaches and shore in Grey and Bruce Counties. This directive applies to all municipally managed beaches and shore in both counties.

This order is in effect from noon on May 15, 2020 until rescinded. This order is made pursuant to Section. 22 of the Health Protection and Promotion Act, R.S.O. 1990, c. H. 7 as amended.

This closure means that no activity of any kind can take place and that the following are closed to all persons:

  • Beaches and Beach Access
  • Boardwalks (both sides) • Gardens by the Boardwalk
  • Any portion of the Trails System that goes along the shoreline
  • Any structures on the beach
  • Marinas, boat launches and piers
