The Municipality of Kincardine Marina managed by the KincardineYacht Club [KYC]
The KYC was founded by a group of local boaters in the mid 70's for the purpose of promoting boating in the Kincardine area. We gained our Charter in 1979 and purchased the operation of the Kincardine harbour in the early 80's.
The original harbour served us well for many years but increased vessel traffic required a larger harbour and, more importantly, the surge created by west winds had to be reduced.
In the late 90's the Municipality of Kincardine acquired the harbour from the Federal Government. This created the opportunity to correct the surge problem and enlarge the harbour; completed in 1999. The KYC was designated to operate/manage the harbour on behalf of the Municipality of Kincardine.
Our club is an active organization, which offers social activities, club racing, junior sailing programs and a unique clubhouse, the Kincardine Lighthouse. We are a "working club", in which members have the opportunity to perform 10 hours of work a year in support of club and marina activities and as a way to reduce their annual boating costs. KYC offers both single and family memerships. Members must be boat owners.
